week36, a penny saved is a penny earned..
as summer season approaching fast, our goal is have all AC condensing units checked and filters replaced before its too late.
Country Club has 120 packaged central air units, these are all eletric self contain proprietary setups call MagicPak, both eletrical furnance and condensing unit with build in A-coil, all in one package..
most of all our furnances still operational but we missing about 40 of condensing units. to fit in the old sleeves, new 410a units cost about $2200 each.. and I had thought of many way to convert them into split systems, but nothing really feasible.
Last fall I purchased a 5 close out stock of R22 gas units, at $600 each, and try to see if we can just pull out its condenser portion and to work with our old systems.
it took both my master (universal licensed) HVAC guys, at total of 12 man hours and the cost of a burned transformer and a burned hvac sequencer, they rewire the system and its now working.
the original problem was whenever the system call for heat or cool, the condenser kicks on doesn't matter what, there seem to be a direct wire between the compressor and fan motor and looping 230v back into the low speed. Instead of using normal white/yellow to call heat/cool, Keven came up with the idea of using green to energize both, what a brilliant idea!!!
John (28 years licensed) is Warsaw location foreman, he been with me over 8 years, and Keven (21 years licensed) is the new HVAC guy I just hired this week for $10 for Richmond location, I gave him a instant raise to $12/hour and he is worth every pennies I pay him plus more, together they saved me $9000 today, and much more down the road.
<-- new completed entrance wall, next step is landscaping.
<-- these are gas units.
<-- inwall condenser
<-- 4 jars of freon for $775, unreal price!!!..of course after I just bought 5 jars at $320 each...oh well, I usually go thru 100 lb each season anyway and this year I have 210 more condensers at AutumnWoods, so altogether I am overseeing 550 condensing units and 150 wall mount systems... lol
