比较一下几个大公司的IRA： 看看他们有哪些 fund 可选，管理费多少，资产多了有哪些优惠 （比如更低的管理费，individual fund 没有minimum investment limit, and brokerage trading costs etc.)。然后把这些再和现在的IRA and 401K plan 比较一下，选出最优方案。Have fun!

you can open a "financial advisor" account, and then link all your and your hubby's accounts together. you can trade them together based on pre-allocation rules. or you can trade a specific one from a drop down menu. really convenient to consolidate multiple accounts.

yes IB. trading cost is very very low, but if you do not trade at all, there is $10/month maintenance cost. if commission is >$30, $10 is waived. For IRA, I believe there is a small quarterly maintenance fee that goes to a third party trust.

and largely trade limit order (and provide liquidity instead of take liquidity), you receive rebate back passed through from exchanges. I used to pay about 0.2c/share on average when I traded stocks.

If you mostly do market orders or marketable limit orders, then 0.5c/share fixed all-in pricing is better.

yes in general. most true daytraders do not touch stocks less than $50.
